Successful Untraditional/Virtual Learning for Children of Working Professionals

Adapt & Grow was created during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide coaching and consulting to parents, caregivers, and professionals as they navigate changes to roles, routines, and activities as children grow up in an increasingly dynamic world. This webinar helps caregivers more smoothly manage new schooling environments for their children. Topics we will present on include setting up a work space and schedule for a child's school day, promoting attention and independence within the school routine, and providing ideas for productively filling breaks and encouraging movement between classes.

Presenters: Becky Balog, OTR/L and Caitlyn Berry, OTR/L
Becky and Caitlyn are pediatric occupational therapists (OT) that practice in the Richmond area at Spot On Therapy Group and SOAR365 respectively. As OTs, they specialize in working with children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and their families. Our areas of expertise include child development, self-regulation, sensory processing, fine motor skills, implementing roles/routines, and promoting independence in children. They are lifelong learners and continue to delve into the latest research and education to enhance our evidence-based practice.

In starting Adapt & Grow, Caitlyn and Becky recognized that real progress happens when parents are taught to use therapy strategies outside of sessions. We desire to uplift parents and caregivers as experts on their child and bring our expertise on child development to create a collaborative problem-solving partnership with them.
