Presentation to cover accounting for leases, both for the lessee and lessor. Key definitions, exclusions, terms, and examples will also be covered. Finally, we will look at some strategies for implementation and what steps to take now to prepare.

Presenter: Matthew Heatwole

Matthew is a partner based in the Brown Edwards Harrisonburg office. He has over seventeen years of experience in public accounting, working with a wide range of entities, including municipalities, governmental entities, non-profits, construction, cooperatives, and small businesses. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Information Systems and a Master of Accounting and Information Systems, both from Virginia Tech. In addition, he is actively committed to serving the community through current or past memberships on various community committees and boards.
